Vesper: The Formal Introduction

In a previous post I shared a bit about the 1963 Corvair that was (in a roundabout way) left to me.

The "Spyder" emblems that are seen in photographs of this car are inaccurate. Apparently, the front end has been replaced, and the parts used to do so were from a Spyder, and those emblems were not removed. What I have is a 1963 Corvair Monza Coupe, 4-speed.

I toyed with the idea of naming her "Spyder", since that's what she's always been known as in my head. But, after some research, I settled on Vesper.

Vesper's a Dirty Girl

Vesper: a nod to dusk, evening light, and the transition into nighttime.

Vesper is also a cocktail:

• 3 oz Gin

• 1 oz Vodka

• 1/2 oz Lillet Blanc

"Shaken, not stirred" and served with a large, thin slice of lemon peel.

When her engine starts for the first time - I will be having a Vesper Martini.

Vesper is now officially... tired. (Although one is insultingly not holding air.)

Vesper is free of the barn, reintroduced to daylight, and has been hosed off and vacuumed.

Vesper is in a friend's shop, awaiting her glow-up. We'll try not to keep the lady waiting long. (Well, not as long as she's already been waiting.)
