Lone Arrow 🌵 Arizona

Twin Arrows is now Lone Arrow, Arizona.

At some point it's twin fell and was removed. Thanks I-40.

Lone Arrow

This Route 66 trading post declined into legitimate ghost-towndom with the creation of Interstate-40 which bypassed US 66. Sad, if you ask me.

But it makes a glorious ghost town.

If you know me, you know that I thrive in this sort of photographic atmosphere.

I have to admit though, this place heebied my jeebies a bit.

When you walk around Twin Arrows, many of these doorless rooms are impossible to see inside until you are directly in front of them. Add in the noises of electrical wiring swinging against metal, creaking buildings with free-floating trash, and simply the Arizona dust and wind.

And then I met..

this guy.
this guy.

Initially I saw this guy through a window and about had a heart attack. After wandering for awhile, apparently I forgot he was there, and I rounded a corner to see him up close.

He was no less creepy up close.
